Figo Pet Insurance Review

It may not have been around as long as other major pet insurance providers, but Figo Pet Insurance has picked up plenty of awards over the years. There’s plenty on offer and on average, you can protect your pets for less than $1.50 per day.

What Does Figo Pet Insurance Cover?

Pet insurance policies can be confusing. That’s why Figo only has three straightforward and simple pet insurance plans for cats and dogs, that can be customized to meet your budget needs and coverage requirements.

The three coverage plans are split across three maximum annual benefits: Essential, Preferred and Ultimate.

The Essential Plan has a maximum annual benefit of $5,000 and covers exam and consultation fees, emergencies and hospitalization, chronic conditions, cancer treatments, prescriptions, surgeries, knee conditions, and more.

The Preferred Plan has a maximum annual benefit of $10,000 while the Ultimate Plan is uncapped. All three plans offer the same levels of protection.

Figo is upfront about what its pet insurance policy plans don’t cover.

In addition to pre-existing conditions, you won’t be covered for preventative care, spaying or neutering, experimental procedures, birth procedures, cosmetic surgery, or any illnesses as a result of coprophagia (where your pet eats its own poop).

    Pro's

    • 100% reimbursement option
    • Three plans cover most price budgets
    • Claims are paid within 5–7 days.

    Con's

    • 6-month waiting period for knee injuries

Figo Pet Insurance’s Reimbursement and Deductibles

There’s a large variety of deductible options, starting at $100 and raising in hundred-dollar increments up to $1,500.

Reimbursements start at 70% but surprisingly go all the way up to 100%, which is very rare for a pet insurance provider.

    Figo Pet Insurance’s Waiting Periods

There’s a 14-day waiting period until your insurance plan becomes active, but this increases to six months for more serious conditions such as knee and hip injuries.

How Much Does Figo Pet Insurance Cost?

For smaller cats and dogs, a policy with a reimbursement level of 80% and an annual limit of $10,000 will cost around $30. The same level of cover for a medium-sized dog of average age will cost around $50.

There are no set prices listed on Figo Pet Insurance’s website as each plan is tailored to the specific conditions of each pet, so we’d encourage you to visit the website for a free quote.

    Customer Service and Satisfaction

Figo’s customer service team is available between the hours of 8 AM to 7 PM (Monday–Friday) and can be contacted via cellphone, text, chat, email, and even Facebook Messenger.

Figo is rated excellent on Trustpilot with a lot of favorable reviews that praise the kindness of its staff.

Our Rating – How Pawsome is Figo Pet Insurance?

We love an award-winning pet insurance provider as it shows they truly have your pets’ best interests at heart.

There’s a lot of different options available when it comes to reimbursement and deductibles, but small animal and exotics pet owners may want to get a free quote from PetPremium instead.

Figo’s plans are cheap, but its waiting times of five to seven working days fall short in comparison to the two-day waiting times offered by Healthy Paws and Pet Assure
